cerealforlunch is where I talk about everything from the cities I’ve lived in and the experiences I have had to the food I like and the books I read. I love observing people, figuring them out, and interacting with them, and my writing is a reflection of what’s going on in my mind and with the people around me. This blog is a space where I can rant and ramble and overthink and not be judged for it. My writing depends on my mood, so you will probably find a number of blog posts, some short and some the length of a novel, some upbeat and some morose (mostly upbeat; I’m a happy kid), some about the meaning of life and other deep things and some about that bee-yoo-ti-ful dish that you should order at that new place on that dark street in that posh area.
My name is Zasha O’Brien and I am a 22 year old from Calcutta, India. I studied in one of the country’s premier (all-girls) schools, before moving to New Delhi to study political science. I now live in London, where I am doing my Masters in International Relations at King’s College London.
I love dogs and black coffee and white wine and most things that are edible and bookshops and petrichor and being organized and Oxford commas and my iPad and the beach and lazy weekends spent cuddling in bed and watching animated movies. I do not like being active and green vegetables and being told what to do and misogynists. I do not understand the stock market and frappuccinos. I can do a really cute piggy face. I cook. And I write.
